Sr. Photographer – Julie

 

Julie Salzmann joins us from the snowy lands of Minnesota! Owner of JS Creative, Julie lends her creative style to both our videography and our photography projects. She has a contagious laugh, and thinks outside the box. Her eye for fashion brings out the glamour in her subjects.

An interview with Julie:

How did you get into photography/videography as a field? I’ve been making videos with my parents’ old school video camera since I was about 10, and setting up photo shoots since about the same age. My younger sister was always the subject of my crazy ideas, so we have lots of footage and photos of her growing up! Hahah. When I got to college and got to use REAL equipment, I thought I’d died and gone to heaven! I was absolutely hooked since then.

What book/movie/TV show/comfort food can you not live without? Well, admittedly, I’m not a huge book reader. But I am obsessed with blogs of people I respect in the photo/video world and read their posts every day. TV shows….oh man…here we go: Friday night Lights, LOST, Heroes, Freaks & Geeks, Arrested Development…now, i recently got Netflix and can watch all these shows with no commercials….its a new bad habit. Fav food? Sandwiches, or Shudwa (An Assyrian (my nationality) dish my grandma makes). Yum.

Favorite hobbies/past-times? Coming up with photo shoots that nobody has seen before. Also playing speed Scrabble with my sisters and mom (I dominate — don’t even try), or working on various art projects that I start and never finish. LOL.
